The WVU Mountaineers tallied 35 points in the first half and went on to cruise to a 49-10 victory over the University of Las Vegas Oct. 9.

It was the highest Mountaineer point total since WVU beat Connecticut in 2007 and improved their home winning streak to 11 games.

Brad Starks caught three TD passes, while Noel Devine accumulated 84 yards and scored twice on only three touches to lead WVU to victory. Mountaineer starting quarterback Geno Smith was 12-16 for 220 yards and three TDs. Jock Sanders also scored a touchdown, while Parkersburg native Matt Lindamoud scored his first WVU touchdown on a one-yard blast.

Defensively, the Mountaineers’ Keith Tandy picked off two UNLV passes. West Virginia will play hosts to South Florida in a Thursday Night Special, Oct. 14.
