Pilots Off Course Against Bulldogs

The undefeated Bridgeport Bulldogs scored 26 first-quarter points and 19 second-period markers enroute to a 52-13 victory over the River Pilots, Oct. 8 on the Pilots’ homecoming night.

After surrendering 52 points in the first three periods, the Pilots tallied TD runs by James West and Jonathan Stewart to make it respectable.

The Pilots had 123 yards rushing and 52 yards passing in the game. Stewart accumulated 77 yards and a TD, while West tallied 38 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Sapp added nine yards on the ground. From the air, the Cody Caldwell was good on 9-21 attempts for 52 yards. He also snatched an interception. Nick Asturi caught three Caldwell passes for 21 yards, while Garth Richter hauled in two passes for 13 yards. Cody Caretti caught one pass for 11 yards, while Stewart hauled in a pair of passes for seven yards.

The Pilots will look to get their first victory of the season when they travel to Buckeye Trail Oct. 15.
