Smith Earns Spot On Potomac State Team
Hundred graduate Emery Smith made the Potomac State College boys basketball team along with 11 other recruits last week. Smith got a look see after Hornet Assistant Coach Virgil Wilkins called Potomac Head Coach Shawn White.
There were 39 athletes that tried out with only 12 making the team, with four or five more players to be red-shirted.
Smith played a significant role in the Hornets’ success the past several years. He will be used as a #2 guard and will be counted on to score some points, as well as play defense that Hundred Head Coach Justin Balwanz taught.
Emery is the son of Clyde and Cindy Smith of Willeyville and the grandson of Shelby Cain, also of Willeyville.
