Lady Pilots Lose Two
The Frontier Cougars defeated the River Pilot Volleyball Team Sept. 22 in three straight, 25-12, 25-4, and 25-18.
For the Pilots, Dakota Earley and Torey Potts did all the scoring, while Brittany Conners, Brianna Cook, Potts, and Anna Rufener each added kills. Potts, Maggie Morrow, Annie Turner, and Alana Smith each added assists.
Potts also added four digs and one block to her total, while Rufener, Turner, Smith, Hannah Jones, and Stephanie Murdock each recorded digs.
River blasted 15 kills and blocked six shots at the net, but it wasn’t enough to get by the Beallsville Blue Devils Sept. 27 in Blue Devil territory.
Dakota Earley saw four of her serves go for aces, while adding a kill to lead the Pilots and Brittany Conners added one dig, one kill, one ace, two blocks, and had three assists. Annie Turner had a game-high seven assists, while adding a pair of kills, one dig, and one blocked shot.
Other Lady Pilots contributing included Bri Cook with three kills; Leslie Young with four kills and one block; and Torey Potts with a service ace. Potts also had four kills and blocked two shots.
On Sept. 30, Shenandoah beat the Pilots, 25-8, 25-15, and 25-4 in a match at River High School.
Conners paced the Pilot attack with two digs and two kills, while Turner contributed three assists and one kill. Potts added one kill, one dig, and three blocked shots at the net. Young came off the bench to add two kills, while Smith and Earley each added a dig.
