Hornets Lose, 64-0 To Bishops
Bishop Donahue spoiled the Hundred Hornets’ Homecoming with a 64-0 shutout Oct. 2 at Cosgray Field.
Bishop scored on the first play from scrimmage and led 13-0, less than three minutes into the game. Chris Shackleford made an outstanding catch of a Bishop Donahue aerial for the only Hornet highlight in the first period.
With 4:40 left in period one, Hornet Brian Johnson hauled in a Tyrell Watson pass to move the chains for the first time in the quarter. In the meanwhile, while Shane Kuhn picked up the only other first down, in the second frame on a nice run.
Hundred had negative yardage for the game and eight yards accumulated through the air on two Shackleford catches.
Roger Stalnaker led the Hornets with 10 tackles, while Johnson and Ray Yoho each stopped seven Bishop players. Jacob Watson had a quarterback sack.
Coming off the bench were Rocky Tennant and Jeremy Opyoke who gave the Hornets a shot in the arm with their desire to overcome a huge deficit.
Mylyn Olayan was crowned the Hundred Homecoming Queen, while Shane Kuhn was chosen as Homecoming King.
Hundred will travel to Cameron Friday night on the Dragons’ homecoming night at 7:30 p.m.
