Lady ‘Cats Making Noise In Ohio Valley Volleyball

The Paden City High School Volleyball Team beat the Wheeling Central Lady Maroon Knights in two separate matches in Wheeling Sept. 21. Scores were 25-14 and 25-10 in the first match and 25-18 and 26-24 in the second match.
Amanda Heasley paced the high-flying Lady ‘Cats with 29 points in the pair of two set matches, while adding 14 kills. Dominique Craft had a fine performance herself. She scored 25 points,10 kills, and 13 digs, while Lynnsie Parsons contributed 91 sets, and 46 assists. She also scored seven points in the first match and one point in the second match.
The Wildcat “Italian Filly,” Chiara DiLeo, tallied 15 points, 16 kills, 12 digs, and provided four assists. Logan Cosper scored three points, seven digs, and dented the Maroon Knight gym floor with a kill all in match one, while adding three points and two digs in match two. Megan Cutlip scored11 points, seven kills, and four digs in the first match.

R. L. Potts Gymnasium was buzzing Sept. 23 as the Lady Wildcats came to town for a match with the Lady Pilots.

The Pilots played efficiently in all three sets, but the OVAC Class A front-runners, Paden City, had too many weapons at their disposal. Parsons had 35 assists on 78 sets, while scoring seven points and adding 10 digs. The combination of Heasley and Cutlip accounted for 22 points, 20 kills, and 10 digs, while the pint-size Cosper picked up her game even more with 10 points and seven digs.
Lady Pilot Brianna Cook smacked five kills, blocked five Paden City shots, and contributed a pair of digs to lead the charge for the Pilots, while Torey Potts chipped in with four kills and four blocks. Their Pilot teammate, Annie Turner, had a nice all-around game. She had a service ace, two kills, nine assists, three digs, and blocked two shots, while Hannah Jones got down for three digs. Dakota Earley contributed one service ace and two kills, while Brittany Conners tallied three service aces, one dig, one kill, and a block.
