By Staff | Sep 22, 2010

The Hornets’ Chris Varner had 119 total yards on offense and Mhar Olayan added a career-high 12 tackles on defense, but Hundred couldn’t get the ball into the end zone, as the Hornets fell 40-0 to Clay-Battelle, Sept. 17 in Blacksville.

Tyrell Watson threw for 56 yards, 33 yards to Dylan Murphy, 19 yards to Varner, and four yards to Shane Kuhn.

Roger Stalnaker made 11 tackles, while Watson finished with 10 for all of the Hornet highlights.

“We will have all our starters back this Friday against Paden City,” said Hornet Head Coach Rex Rush.

“Dalton Kuhn has been out for awhile and Zac White has been bothered with a leg injury and both should be ready to go full tilt.

It was Vanner’s first 100 yard rushing game for Hundred.

The Hornets were inside the Red Zone four to five times during the game and was inside the 10 yard line twice, but couldn’t punch it in.

Hundred plays Paden City this Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. in another version of the “Backyard Brawl” Wetzel County style.
