Tyler Speedway Starts Back Up Friday

By Staff | Aug 18, 2010

Rain showers forced Tyler County officials to cancel the racing program Saturday night, Aug. 14, prompting management to postpone last Saturday’s action to this Saturday, Aug. 21. As a result, the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association will host another double-header weekend in the Ohio Valley area with Friday night action at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio.

On Aug. 20, the tandem feature the following day at Tyler Countyand Skyline will both feature regular racing in all classes, plus the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association. With two races in the area, car counts are anticipated to grow in pursuit of the attractive OVSCA racing purse. The series has grown from infancy this spring to a viable organization, sustained from a growing list of followers in its fan base.

The arm bands at Tyler from Aug. 14 will be honored for Aug. 21 only. This will be the final regular season race before the Labor Day spectacular.

The three-day Black Diamond weekend, Sept. 3-5, continues to grow with anticipation and pre-entry lists are added to daily. For complete details about this race and Tyler’s weekend racing go to www.tylercountyspeedwayonline.com.

The Tyler County Speedway is located at the Tyler County Fairgrounds on W. Va. Rt. 18, five miles past Middlebourne. For further information, contact Frank Wilson Jr. at 304-483-2536.
