Riverfront All-Stars Win Third Place Championship In ‘Beast’ Tournament

The Riverfront All-Stars won the third place championship in this year’s Beast of the East baseball tournament held last month. The Riverfront Baseball All-Star team won the third place championship in the 12U Beast of the East. After winning three of the five games, they made it to the third place bracket for the Sunday playoffs.

The Riverfront All-Stars won the first game against the Diamond Orioles, but dropped the next two games. However, they came back to beat the Blue and Gold Lightning 9-0. Then the Riverfront All-Stars blanked a Canadian team of Richmond Hill Phoenix,7-0.

Riverfront received nice pins as a gift from Richmond Hill and the Riverfront team gave the Canadian team USA pins and water bottles signed by their team players.

The Riverfront All-Stars came back on Sunday, ready to capture the third place championship. In the runup to the championship game, Riverfront defeated one team 10-1 and a second team, 13-7, in the semi-finals.

In the third place championship game, the Riverfront All-Stars would take no prisoners and beat the Ohio Blast, 9-3. They won six of the eight games played. Area all-stars Chase Miller, Chase Mercer and Chris Palmer each received plaques for hitting out of the park homeruns
