Certificates were presented to the athletic directors at their mandatory meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at WesBanco Arena by Ohio University Eastern Dean, Dr. Richard Greenlee, and athletic director E. J. Schodzinski.
Of the 48 OVAC schools 45 took advantage of the opportunity to submit nominees. Schools not responding were: Conotton Valley, Frontier, and Zanesville. This year, 1,635 student/athletes received this certificate.
Ohio University Eastern sponsors this program, which is now in its seventh year. Students who choose to attend OUE receive a scholarship that pays one-half of their tuition. This is renewable for their sophomore year as long as their grades are maintained.
The OVAC is currently looking for members of their McDonald’s All-Star Band.
Formed in 1982, there have been 29 units. Former members are asked to e-mail the following information to tom@OVAC.org.
Name, current mailing address, email address, years performed, instrument played, and if you still play.
