MHS?Cheer Camp Brings Out 63 Participants
The Magnolia High School cheerleading camp, consisting of 48 campers and 15 cheerleaders, was a huge success. The camp was held Aug. 9-12 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The campers worked on cheering routines, sideline cheers, dance, and gymnastics. The campers also provided entertainment on the last day of camp with a dance and cheering routine for family and friends.
The campers worked hard and had fun. Snacks and refreshments were served throughout the camp, which was separated into groups and scheduled for work on several routines and drills.
Coaches Brittany McGinnis and Cindy Zajdowicz thought the campers did very well, noting, “The girls picked up things very quickly and they were very eager to learn everything they could about the cheerleading craft and had a wonderful time as did we.”
The 2010-11 MHS cheerleaders who mentored campers were Emily Amos, Maddie Bridgeman, Holly McDonald, Emily Patterson, Shana Street, Aly Smith, Ashtin Zajdowicz, Kayla Adams, Eliza Cain, Lakyn Cecil, Kourtney Kuhn, Oliva Myers, Haley White, McKenzie Newman, and Gabby Hostetler.
