Alumni Golf Scramble Set
On Saturday, July 3, the Paden City Alumni and Families will be teeing off for the 36th time at the Sistersville Country Club, beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
The five-person scramble began as something to do on Alumni Weekend, but has emerged as a big event, with Alumni coming in from all over the country to participate.
The scramble has been held in several locations over the years, including St. Marys, Riverside and now and current home, Sistersville Country Club, which has been gracious enough to host the scramble again this year.
Last year the ‘Cats’ golf scramble raised $1,300. This year, money raised in the Alumni Scramble will go to one or more scholarships through the Berger Alumni Trust. This year, scholarships were awarded to four PCHS graduates.
Scramble Chairman Mike Tallman thanks all those who have contributed over the years and urges them to prepare for another Wildcat Invasion. Last year’s past sponsors included John Goots, Partitions Inc.; The Paul Wissmach Glass Co.; Bill Goots Construction N.C.; Union Bank, Sistersville; J.C. Mensore Distributors; Snavel Wood Products, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Sprouse Aluminum; Sistersville VFW; and Homer Toman.
Anyone wishing to contribute or sponsor a hole may contact Mike Tallman at 304-337-9164 or write to him at 210 Helen St. Paden City, W. Va. 26159.
