‘Cats Split Double Header With ‘Dogs

By Staff | May 12, 2010

The Paden City Wildcats split a double header with the Doddridge Bulldogs May 4, losing the first game, 8-7, and winning game two, 3-1, at Paden City Park.

In game one, the Wildcats’ Malakai Anderson went the distance from the hill and struck out 13 and walked two.

But, it wasn’t enough, as three ‘Cat miscues led to four Doddridge runs that keyed the ‘Dogs to an 8-7 victory.

Anderson helped himself at the dish with three singles and an RBI, while Josh Bennett lined two singles that brought home two base runners.

Jared Stewart knocked in two runs on a double, while Taylor Still and Zach Yost each plated one with a single. Mitchel Stewart, Jay Biliter, and Matt Barker each provided singles for the Wildcats.

In the nightcap, Bennett struck out nine Bulldog batters and walked three in a five inning 3-1 victory.

The game was called because of a problem with the lights. The win pushed the ‘Cats record to 11-11 on the season.

The ‘Cats will host Valley May 13 at 6 p.m. with the rest of the sectional games being at Cameron May 14-15.

Bennett and Mitchell Stewart each belted a pair of singles, while Jared Stewart added an RBI base hit to help lead the ‘Cats to victory.

The ‘Cats will face Valley in the Region One, Section One Class A Sectionals May 13 at 5 p.m., with the losing team heading to Cameron May 14.
