Area Baseball, Softball And Track Schedules Are Detailed

Area high school baseball and softball sectional and regional games, along with track, will be highlighting the sports pages the next few weeks, including a list of who plays where and what time.

The Magnolia Blue Eagle Baseball Team will host Tyler Consolidated Monday, May 10 at 5 p.m. and will then go to Tyler May 11 at 5 p.m. If needed, a game three will be played at Magnolia on May 12 at 5 p.m., with the survivor moving on to play either Weir or Oak Glen.

The Eagle girls’ softball team will play hostesses to Tyler Consolidated May 7 at 5 p.m. in a double header. If a game three is necessary, it will be played at Magnolia on Saturday, May 8 at noon, with the winner moving on to play either Weir or Oak Glen.

The Class AA track regionals start May 13 at Ritchie County and the state track meet is set for May 21-22 in Charleston. The Class A track regionals is set for May 14 at Wheeling Park and the state tournament is will be held at Laidley Field in Charleston.

In Class A, Hundred was reconfigured to play against Clay-Battelle and Morgantown Trinity in both baseball and softball. In baseball, the Hornets will play the number two seed on May 10 at West Wood Elementary School in Morgantown, with the winner moving on to play the number one seed the following night. The time is not set in stone.

In softball, the Lady Hornets are the number two seed and will take on Morgantown Trinity on May 5 at Mylan Park in Morgantown. The loser will play Clay-Battelle after the first game. The two winners play May 6 with a time TBA.

in baseball, Paden City will host the Valley Lumberjacks on May 13 at 6 p.m. with the winner playing at Cameron May 14 against the Dragons at 5:30 p.m. and the two losing teams knocking heads at 7:30 p.m.

In softball, Paden City will host Valley at 4 p.m. on May 6, with Cameron taking on the losing team a 5:30 p.m. On May 7 at 4 p.m., the winner of game one will play the winner of game two at 5:30 p.m. If needed, a championship game is set for noon on May 8, also at Paden City.

The Pilots baseball team start their sectional play against Frontier in Bridgeport May 6 at 5 p.m., while the softball team take on Barnesville on May 11 at 6:30 p.m. in St. Clairsville.

The girls and boys’ track teams will run in the District Championships in Newcommerstown May 18 with a time TBA.
