MHS Boys, River Girls Win Weekly WTTL Event
The Lady Pilots knocked off the Tyler Consolidated Silver Knight thinclads from the top spot in the WTTL, while Magnolia nosed out the Knights for second place. The Lady Knights put a B Team in the meet and finished 13 points behind the A Team for fourth place, with Paden City 12 points behind Tyler’s B Team with 74 points.
The Pilots’ Cassidy McCullough placed first for the Lady Pilots in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash events. She also won the 300 meter hurdles and was the anchor in the 4×200 meter relay that finished in front of Tyler, Paden City, and Magnolia. Other relay teams placing first for the Pilots were the 4×400 relay and the 4×800 relay teams, while their 4×100 meter relay team placed third behind Tyler and Magnolia, respectively, with Paden City a close fourth. The Pilots Shuttle Team finished in fourth place, just 12 seconds behind Paden City.
The Pilots’ Randa Imhoff finished in second place in the 400 meter run – one second behind Rheanna Foley of Tyler. Emily Dierkes and Laken Ramsay each finished second in the 800 meter run and the 1,600 meter run behind the Knights’ Allison Wable in both events.
Chelsea Smith, Desi Hinkle, and Jobeth Haslam finished one, two, and three for River in the women’s shot put, while Hinkle and Haslam placed second and third, respectively, behind Carlee Morris of Tyler Consolidated. Ashley Imhoff finished in third in the Pole Vault, while Jordan Ramsay placed third in the long jump.
For the third straight week, the Magnolia shuttle team of Emily Patterson, Emily Amos, Brittany Leek, and Holly McDonald came from behind to nose out the Silver Knights by two-tenths of a second, 1:09.1 to 1:09.3. Christa Harshbeger finished second for the first time this week, after winning back-to-back weeks in the 3,200 meter run while finishing third in the 1,600 meter run. Her teammate, Krista Emch, finished one spot behind Harshberger in both events.
The Eagles’ Alli Childers and Holly McDonald beat out all their competition in the high jump and the long jump, respectively, for first place, while the 4×400 meter relay and the 4×800 relay teams each finished third. Jenie Emch placed third in the 400 meter run, while Emily Patterson finished in fourth in the 100 meter dash.
McDonald and Leek placed second and third, respectively, in the 100 meter hurdles, while Stina Petterson and Harshberger placed fourth and fifth in the 800 meter run.
Amanda Sellers won the 100 meter hurdles in 16.1 seconds, while Alli Bertozzi finished third in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. Sellers also scored in the 300 meter hurdles for third place, while teammate Amanda Tallman crossed the finish line in fourth place. Megan Cutlip, Megan Lasure, Logan Cosper, Lynnsie Parsons, and Stephanie West also scored points for the Wildcats.

For the second straight week the Magnolia Blue Eagle Boys’ Track Team beat Tyler, River and Paden City in the third session of the WTTL with 184 points, while Tyler Consolidated took second with 173 points, while River and Paden City adding 102 and 52 points, respectively.
Brendan Kacor finished first in the long jump with a jump of 20’2.25, while finishing second in the 100 meter dash. The 100 meter relay and the 4×200 meter relay team of Kacor, Steve Rogalski, Timmy Shreves, and Lance Anderson crossed the finish line in first at a time of 45.4, and 1:35.9, respectively along with the 4×400 and 4×800 relay teams.
Alec Hinerman and MHS teammate Nathan Harshberger placed first and fourth, respectively, in the 3,200 meter run, while Hinerman, Bill Feeney, and Harshberger came in second, third and fourth, respectively in the 1,600 meter run. Rogalski finished in the top slot for the high jump at 5’4, while Matt Riggs won the shot put and discus with tosses of 49’1 and 150’2 respectively. Cameron Benson and Justin Wade each moved up to second place in the shot put and the discus, respectively.
Timmy Shreve and James Haught finished second and third place in the 300 meter hurdles, while Joe Feeney, Harshberger, and Nick Blatt placed second, third, and fourth in the 800 meter run. Juan Carlos Ramos finished in the fourth spot in both the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash, while James Haught finished fourth in the 110 hurdles. Seth Blake and Christopher Clayville each scored a point in both the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash.
For the Pilots’ Dylan Potts nosed out both Alex Doak of Tyler and Malakai Anderson from Paden City in the 200 and 400 meter dash respectively, while finishing third in the 100 meter dash, with teammates Devon Knowlton and Austin McConn was placing fifth and sixth. Journey Wayts won the pole vault, while teammates Logan Postle, Flint Postle, and Jonathan Stewart placed fourth, fifth, and sixth. In the long jump Jarred Hinkle, Journey Wayts, and James West finished second, third, and fourth place, respectively. In the discus and shot put, the Pilots Jared Hinkle was third and fifth, respectively.
In the relay events the Pilots finished third in the 4×800; fourth in both the 4×100 and the 4×200 and fifth in the 4×400 meter relays. OVAC wrestling champion Josh Bartrug placed second in the 3,200 meter run, while teammate Zach Caretti finished sixth in the 1,600 meter run and Jonathan Stewart sixth in the 800 meter run.
Wildcats hurdler Payton Hinkley won the 10 meter hurdles, while finishing fourth in the 300 meter hurdles to lead Paden City. Malakai Anderson was second in the 400 meter dash and Taylor Still finished third in the 200 meter dash. The ‘Cats Eric Dennis placed fifth in the 1,600 and the 3,200 meter run, while their 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 meter relay teams each finished third.
