Lady Hornets Split Two
The Hundred Hornets beat Webster County 15-3 in the North Marion Tournament April 2. Webster County scored three runs without a hit, while Jordyn Gorby pitched four innings and didn’t give up a hit. She also struck out 12 batters.
Offensive stats were not available, but Hundred Head Coach Brian Bartlett said,
“Our girls are playing with such confidence right now. They’ve been working so hard. I’m proud of them. It’s nice to win games. We’ve just got to stay focused. We still have a lot of games still yet to play.”

The Lady Hornets lost their second game of the season – and first game since opening day – 4-0 to Clay-Battelle. Gorby took the loss from the mound. She struck out seven and gave up eight hits, while the Cee-Bee pitcher struck out 11. She gave up singles to Gorby and Haley Hayes to gain the nod from the mound.
“We had a little trouble putting the ball into play, but we will get better and continue to battle every game we play,” said Bartlett.
