The Hundred Hornets’ Roger “Bubba” Stalnaker had a career night April 10, with three singles, a pair of doubles and two home runs in a double hitter loss against Bishop Donahue, in McMechen.

In the first game, Bishop prevailed 17-13 and 16-6 in the nightcap, leaving the Hornets still looking for that first victory in their 0-11 season.

In game one, the Bishops jumped out to a 13-3 lead, but a double and a pair of Stalnaker singles cut Hundred’s deficit before Donahue tallied four runs in the final two frames to gain the victory.

Zach Phillips added a two RBI single for the Hornets. Shane Kuhn took the loss from the mound, striking out three and walking the same number. Zach Phillips came in relief, striking out four batters and walking two.

In the second game, Stalnaker smacked a double and drilled a pair of home runs, while knocking in three runs. But that wasn’t enough, as Donahue scored 16 runs to win a mercy-rule shortened game, 16-6.

Dalton Kuhn took the loss from the mound. He struck out three and walked four, while Stalnaker came in relief to strike out one and walk five.

Stalnaker led the way with a pair of singles and a double, while plating four runs to raise his batting average to .444 for the season. Phillips added a two-run single.
