The Magnolia Blue Eagle Boys’ Track Team won the 2010 Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights-Auggie’s Invitational Classic in Kidwell April 1, with 101 points, while Tyler Consolidated was third. River placed seventh, Paden City ninth, and Valley 11th in the 14-team boys’ invitational.

The Eagles’ Brendan Kacor won the long jump event with a jump of 20’5, while churning out second place finishes in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. He also placed third in the 400 meter run.

The only other first place winners for the Eagles was Stephen Rogalski in the high jump, with a jump of 6′. He also scored in the 100 meter dash in fifth place.

In the long distance events, Magnolia’s Joe Feeney placed runnerup in the 800 meter run and third in the 1,600 meter run. Feeney also scored points for Magnolia in the 1,600 meter run with a fifth place finish. Teammate Nathan Harshberger was second in the 3,200 meter run and placed fourth in the 1,600 meter run. Bill Feeney also scored points for the Eagles in the long distance competition. He was fourth in the 3,200 meter run and fifth in the 1,600 meter run.

In the relay events, the Blue Eagles took second in the 4×400 meter relay and the 4×800 meter relay.

The River boys finished in seventh in the Invitational with 28 points. Dylan Potts came in second behind the Silver Knights’ Nate Taylor in the 100 meter dash and the 400 meter dash, while Journey Wayts placed fourth in the pole vault.

The Wildcats of Paden City finished in ninth place, while Valley took the 11th slot. Josh Bennett had the best finish for the ‘Cats with a third place finish in the long jump. The Lumberjacks 4×200 meter relay team of Matthew Poling, Ronald Morris, William Streets and Casey Pingley placed second and the ‘Cat foursome of Bennett, Malakai Anderson, Braxton Herrick and Taylor Still finished one spot lower.

The River Pilot Girls Track Team placed third in the 12-team Tyler Consolidated-Auggie’s Classic, while the Magnolia “A” Team was eighth, and their “B” Team was 11th. Paden City tied Roane for ninth place, while St. Marys took home high point with 122 to win the girls title.

Chelsea Smith and Desiree Hinkle was one-two in the shot, while teammate Jobeth Haslam took fourth and second in the shot put to lead the Lady Pilots. Cassisdy McCullough placed second in the 200 meter dash and third in the 100 meter hurdles for the Lady Pilots.

The 4×800 meter relay team of Emily Dierkes, Randa Imhoff, Annie Turner, and Laken Ramsay placed second, while the 4×400 meter relay team finished third. Ramsay also scored in the long jump in fifth, while Dierkes finished fourth in the 800 meter run.

For Magnolia, the 4×102 shuttles and the 4×100 meter relay team of Emily Patterson, Emily Amos, Brittany Leek and Holly McDonald finished third to lead the Eagles. Other Lady Eagles scoring were Alli Childers in the high jump; Holly McDonald, in the long jump; and Christa Harshberger, each finishing in third place in their perspective events. Meantime, Emily Patterson finished in fifth place in the 100 meter dash.

For Paden City, Amanda Sellers was “top dog” with a third place finish in the 300 meter hurdles, while the foursome of Sellers, Amanda Tallman, Taylor Parsons and Dominique Craft finished fourth in the shuttles.
