Lady Wildcats Win One, Give Up Two
The Lady Dragons scored three runs in the first, fourth and sixth innings and went on to score 13 runs on 15 hits to defeat Paden City 13-2 in a seven inning marathon March 24, in Wildcat territory.
Kelsey Loy went the distance for the Lady Wildcats took the loss. She struck out four batters and walked six, while giving up 13 runs and 15 hits, including a pair of home runs.
Amanda Tallman drilled a standup double and scored on a Katie Kline single, while Stephanie West plated the only other run with a solid single to right field.
The Lady Wildcats will host the Beallsville Blue Devils March 31 at 5 p.m

The Lady Wildcats of Paden City hosted the Parkersburg Catholic Lady Crusaders in a double header on Saturday, and had better luck in the second game than they did in the first. The ‘Cats fell 5-4 in the first game and came back to take the win 6-5 in the second.
In the first game of the double header, the ‘Cats started off with Amber Palmer at the pitchers position. Palmer handed out seven walks and seven strike outs. Loub took over little more than halfway through, striking out two and walking two.
At the plate Bethany Arnett doubled for an RBI for the home team; Dominique Craft doubled for an RBI; Katie Kline doubled; and Samantha Shreves singled to drive home a run.
“We should have had this game,” said head coach of the Lady ‘Cats, Penny Baker. “Walks hindered us, but we did have four hits.”
In the second game, the ‘Cats held their ground as they took the win 6-5 with Kelsey Loy at the first position.
The left handed Loy struck out 10 Crusader batters and walked eight.
The ‘Cats had five hits in the game including: Arnett doubling for one RBI; Courtney Conaway, singled for an RBI; Cline singled for an RBI and Stephanie West hit two singles.
The Wildcats game with Bishop Donahue was canceled on Monday but the team has a game on Wednesday at home with Beallsville. On April 5 the team will travel to Valley.
