Lady Eagles Win A Pair

The Magnolia Lady Eagles outscored the Oak Glen Golden Bears in every period en route to a 45-32 victory at the HammerDome Jan. 20.

Padyn “Buffy’ Ludewig fired a game-high 17 points, while Jordan Babe added eight points and eight rebounds in the victory for Magnolia. Dallas “Ringo” Mullett snatched a career-high 11 boards and put up six points, while teammate Marissa Bosley also connected for six points. Abby Harlan tallied four points, while Lindsay Cain and Tori Tharp each connected on a deuce.

Kiley King paced the Golden Bear attack with 13 points and 19 rebounds in a losing effort.

The Blue Eagle duo of Padyn Ludewig and Jordan Babe teamed for 24 points, but it wasn’t quite enough to get by Ritchie County, who prevailed 71-43 Jan. 18 in Rebel Territory.

After holding their own in the first period, the Lady Rebels outscored the Eagles 46-22 in the second and third periods to garner the home victory.

Dallas Mullett chipped in with eight points, while Marissa Bosley added seven and Abby Harlan four in the lop-sided loss.

The Lady Eagles will travel across the river to take on the Lady Pilots Sat. Jan. 23, at 12 p.m.

The Lady Weir Red Riders outscored the Magnolia Lady Eagles 31-20 in the first half en route to a 65-51 victory Jan. 21 in Weirton.

After a disappointing first half, Magnolia fought back and played right with Weir and even outscored them 20-18 in the fourth frame.

Marissa Bosley led the Eagles with 21 points, including a basket from beyond the arc, while Padyn Ludewig chipped in with 14 markers. Dallas Mullett contributed six points, while Lindsay Cain and Jordan Babe each netted three. Abby Harlan and Tori Tharp finished the scoring for Magnolia with two points each.

Padyn Ludewig tallied a game-high 27 points and dished off seven assists to help lead the Magnolia Lady Eagles to a much deserved 59-54 victory over Wheeling Central at the Eagles’ HammerDome Jan. 13.

Magnolia took a 13-12 first period lead before heading into the locker room down four points. After the beak, the Eagles knotted the game at 40, heading into the final period of play.

Magnolia tallied two more baskets than the guests and ran away with the win.

Ludewig led the charge with 27 points, including one from downtown, while the duo of Jordan Babe and Marissa Bosley teamed for 20 points, including four triples. Dallas Mullett and Tori Tharp teamed for 10 points, while Abby Harlan added a deuce.
