Lumberjill Bethany Starkey was 9-13 from the charity stripe and knocked in 13 points from the field, but it wasn’t enough as the young ‘Jills dropped a 49-36 decision to the Lady Dragons of Cameron Dec. 30 in Dragon territory.

After scoring only five points in the opening eight minutes of play, the Lumberjills poured it on. But, so did the Dragons.

Brittany Guthrie and Tiffany Hayes teamed for 17 points, while Jackie Greathouse, Leah Morris, and Heidi Shaw each recorded a basket for the Lumberjills.

The ‘Jills will look to climb back into the win column when they host Jefferson Christian Jan. 7 and Bishop Donahue Jan. 9. Both varsity matches will start around 7 p.m.
