Lloyd Cross Wins Second Weekly Match Play Event
Lloyd Cross earned his second weekly Ohio Valley Match Play Championship of the year with a 261-194 victory over Lil Miller. Cross won $85, compliments of weekly sponsor Subway and Allan Smith.
Dave Johnson was the two-game high qualifier with 217, 298 and a 16 handicap for a 531 total. Cross eliminated Gary Isner, 257-218, in one semifinal, while Miller ousted Jeff Sheppard, 218-177, in the other semi.
Dave Hull leads the Point List with 420 points, while Johnson is second with 340 points. Christine Hull and Lil Miller are tied for third with 305 points, while Chuck Fisherkeller is in fifth place with 295 points.
The top 24 on the Point List will each qualify for the Ohio Valley Match Play 32nd Grand Finale with the top eight each earning a bye. Tournament co-sponsors Miller Lite, Buddy Light Accounting, and Chuck Ludewig Insurance guarantee the top $1,000 top prize.
The Ohio Valley Match Play continues this Saturday at 5 p.m. with the New Year’s Saturday Night Special.

Signups for the winter session of the 2010-11 season will be Saturday, Jan. 2, between 10-11 a.m. The leagues will then start Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. Leagues will consist of three divisions, boys, girls, and bumpers.
Bumpers, ages 4-8; Preps, ages 9-12; and Juniors/Majors ages 13-18. The leagues are sponsored by Bruce Lanes and the local McDonald’s.
