Hornets Score 100

By Staff | Dec 16, 2009

After dropping a heart-breaking loss in the regional finals last season, the Hundred Hornets set their sights high for this season. And, if they continue as they did against Jefferson County Christian Dec. 12, they may well have a fabulous season.

The Hornets scored at least 24 points in each period on their way to a 100-44 victory in which 13 players put numbers on the board.

Logan McDiffitt led the way in a well-balanced attack with 16 points, including a basket from beyond the arc, while Dalton Kuhn tacked on 14 markers that also included a three pointer. Zach Phillips contributed a dozen points, while Tyrell Watson netted 10 points.

Other Hornets chipping in with points include Emery Smith with nine; Jesse Gorby, eight, including a trey; Shane Kuhn, Nathan Kerner, and Chris Varner, each with six points; Rusty Morris added a deuce and a triple; Mitch Moore tossed in four points; Roger Stalnaker swished three points; and Jesse Tedrow scored a free throw.

Tuesday evening the Hornets were scheduled to meet West Greene, but results were unavailable at press time. They will host Weirton Madonna Dec. 19, beginning at 3 p.m.
