Pilots Drop Finale, 43-13

By Staff | Nov 4, 2009

The home-standing Frontier Cougars, hopeful of making the final playoff cut in Ohio Division VI, Region 23, finished the regular season with a 43-13 rout of River Friday evening.

The Pilot’s Dylan Potts, who was being wooed by the University of Akron before the season’s first snap, completed 17 of 25 pass attempts for 245 yards and a touchdown. However, he was intercepted three times, one of which came in the last minute of the game.

Pilot junior wide receiver Cody Caretti caught four Potts’ passes for 103 yards, while Tyler Jeffers finished with three grabs for 85 yards and a touchdown.

The Pilots, who ended their season with a disappointing 2-8 record, will lose Dylan and Devan Potts to graduation along with Journey Wayts, Greg Caretti, Austin McConn, Jesse Goddard, Jeremy Corrick, Joey Asturi, Tyler Jeffers, and River Homecoming King Troy Haslam.
