Eagles Split Two Matches
In a match with John Marshall Oct. 20, the Lady Monarchs would win the first set, 20-25, then Magnolia would answer with a 25-20 victory in set two. Trading wins continued with JM winning the third set, 20-25, and Magnolia prevailing 25-14 in the fourth set to force a tie-breaker. It was a tight match, but the Eagles fell, 13-15 to lose the match.
Six Magnolia girls scored in double figures, with Heasley leading the way at 19 points, including a pair of service aces. Jackson’s 18 points also included nine service aces. Babe added 17 points and an ace, while Bosley and Potts each tallied 13 markers and Padyn Ludewig contributed 10 points.
Magnolia won 15 points on 85 spikes, with Babe scoring five and Harlan and Jackson four. Ludewig and Heasley each added one kill and one block for Magnolia.

In a much-needed win against Brooke on Oct. 22 the Eagles relied on their power game to blast the Lady Bruins in four sets to win the match.
In set one, the Eagles squeaked by with a 25-23 win, but dropped a 19-25 match in the second set. However, Magnolia wrapped up the match with a 25-19 and a 25-15 victory in the following two sets.
Bosley led the way for the Lady Blue with a game-high 22 points, including six service aces, while Ludewig added 21 points and two aces. Both Jackson and Babe netted 13 tallies, with six service aces split between them. Potts contributed nine points, while Emily Blake netted five.
In the power department, Jackson blasted 25 spikes, while Harlan and Babe each drilled 22 for the Eagles. Hanna and Bosley each chipped in with 10 spikes, while Ludewig and Lindsay Cain each adding two. Bosley and Babe each had a block, while Potts tallied 20 digs and Miller 10 digs.
Magnolia will start sectional play this week.
