Lady Eagles Win A Pair
Norway exchange student Stina Pettersen helped the Magnolia Blue Eagle Girls’ Soccer Team defeat Indian Creek and South Harrison, scoring six goals and assisting on another in the two victories. It has been reported that Pettersen also has been seen selling hotdogs at halftime.
Against Indian Creek, Pettersen scored two goals to give the Lady Eagles a 2-1 lead at the break. She also assisted on a goal by Dallas Mullett that was too hot to handle by the Indian Creek goal keeper.
Creek added a goal, but Brittany Leek netted two goals to give Magnolia a 5-2 victory.
Gabby Hostetler, the Big Blue goalkeeper, swatted away 20 saves, including two penalty kicks.

Against South Harrison, Pettersen was at her best. She scored four of the six Magnolia goals to help give the visiting Eagles a 6-5 victory.
The game was played with only nine players from each team, as Harrison didn’t have enough to field a 11 player team and Magnolia played down to make keep fair.
Leek assisted on two of Pettersen’s goals and Sydney Smith one dished up an assist on another, while Petersen landed the other two unassisted. Mullett scored the other two goals for Magnolia.
The Lady Eagles were tired after pounding shot after shot during the 80 minute contest. Hostetler, again, had a big game, shutting the door at the net for Magnolia.
Alli Childers and Smith both played the game of their lives. At midfield, Smith was the catalyst to get the ball to Mullett and Pettersen, while Childers kept the ball away from Hostetler as much as she could in the victory.
