Lady Eagles Drop Pair

The Magnolia Girls’ Soccer Team gave a gallant effort Sept. 15, but fell to Wheeling Central 4-1 at New Martinsville. It was the first game in which the Lady Eagles could compete, after missing four because of injury or sickness.
The Lady Maroon Knights scored a pair of goals in the first half and added two more late in the second half. The Eagles’ lone score came about the 20 minute mark in the second half on a penalty kick by Brittany Leek that cut Central’s lead in half.
Gabby Hostetler, the Eagles keeper, had one of her best games of the season, swatting away 20 Central shots.
