By Staff | Apr 29, 2009

The New Martinsville Buck$ will be hosting some very formidable guests at 7 p.m. on May 1 at Magnolia High School Gymnasium. The Harlem Rockets, a talented group of basketball entertainers who combine incredible show-time basketball skills and family-friendly comedy, will face the New Martinsville Buck$ in a game benefiting the Wetzel County Relay For Life.

Having played over 2,300 games in 14 years without a single defeat, the Harlem Rockets offer something for everyone to enjoy. Sports enthusiasts will be intrigued by the athleticism and size of the Rockets including.

Basketball aficionados will be dazzled by the ball handling wizardry of Clarence “Mugsy” Leggett, satiated by the floor game of Jay Bryant and left awesome by the high-flying dunks by Greg “The Finisher” Wells (Rockhurst University).

And since this is comedy basketball, the Harlem Rockets present to you showman James “Speedy” Williams who combines with referee and team announcer Jermaine “M-Train” Morales and Ben “Rock-N-Roll” Werblow for plenty of laughs.

The Harlem Rockets incorporate the audience, especially children, into the show and are always available to meet the fans and give autographs at halftime and after the game.

In this special event to raise money for the Wetzel County Relay For Life, the New Martinsville Buck$ have graciously agreed to face the Harlem Rockets.
