Mason Dixon Championships (BOYS)

Paden City track star Taylor Still took the medal for scoring the most points for the boys in the Mason-Dixon Conference Championships held last week in Morgantown.

However, the Valley boys just missed winning their second straight championship by 15 points, as the Bishop Donahue Bishops scored 95 points to gain the title. Paden City scored its highest total points so far this track season, finishing one point behind Clay-Battelle who had 60 points.

The ‘Cats’ Still took first place in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash and out-jumped all his competitors in the high jump to win three individual events and claim the high point total in this year’s event.

The Lumberjacks were second in the 4 x 800 and 4 x 200 meter relay events. They also took second-place finishes in the 400 meter dash by Billy Streets; 300 meter intermediate hurdles by Dylan Edgell; shot put by Bradley Mason; and in the high jump by Ronald Morris.

Besides all of Still’s first place titles, the ‘Cats finished second in the 4 x 400 meter relay event. Paden City also took second place in the 3,200 meter run by Ethan Drain. Braxton Herrick also tacked on a first place championship in the 400 meter dash with an excellent time of 57.6.
