Erlewine And Henthorn Win Weekley Match Play

Rich Erlewine continued his hot streak with a second victory in three weeks, April 9, to go along with two seconds in the last four weeks with a 228-195 verdict over the previous week’s winner Ron O’Neil Jr.
Erlewine won $75, compliments of weekly sponsor Wetzel Valley Agencies. O’Neil was the two-game high qualifier with 279-221 and two handicap for a 502 total.
Erlewine ousted Dave Hull 250-191 in one semi final, while O’Neil eliminated Larry Henthorn, 237-199 in the other semifinal.

Jeff Gunn (300-760) and Rick Maffe (750) led the Thursday Night KC Pro Shop Bowling Team to the (3,218) handicap total and the (3,182) Actual Team Championships. Doug Bohrer, Rick Truex, and Doug Tuskey were team members.
Moose Lodge #931 were co-champions in the Handicap Division with 3,218 points. Al Hanood (604), Rich Erlewine, Rusty Wetzel, Bob Cecil, and Ed Herrick were team members.
Bruce Sivert and Rick Whoolery won the Handicap Doubles with 1,407 points, while Mike Craycraft and Al Depinho were second with 1,369 points.
Doug Tuskey, (726) and Chet Richmond, won the Actual Doubles with 1,310 points.
Jeff Gunn won the Handicap and Actual Singles with 761, while Jeff Germani (754) and Chuck Fisherkeller (752) were second and third, respectively.
Gary Isner won the Handicap Senior Singles with 728, while Terry Eddy finished second at 719. Bill Mosa won the Actual Senior Singles with 658 points, and Gary Isner won the Handicap All Events with 2,163 points, while Rick Maffe was second with 2,111 and first in the Actual All Events.
The 41st Annual Event had 22 teams, 46 doubles, 72 singles, 45 senior singles and 65 all event entries and paid out just over $3,000 in total prize money.
The Annual Tournament Banquet was held April 3 at the Lewis Wetzel Family Center with Quinet’s Court Restaurant catering the dinner. Bill Forbes, long time sponsor of the tournament, was inducted into the Men Hall of Fame along with Gary Isner, Hubert Morris, Paul Paugh, and Greg Richmond.

Larry Henthorn won for the fourth time this year with a 215-211 victory over Mike Hafer April 16. The victory was worth $75, compliments of Mitchell’s Bowlers Mart, Akron, Ohio.
Chuck Fisherkeller III was the two game high qualifier with games of 227-276 for a 506. Henthorn eliminated Dave Hull 221-213 in one semi final, while Hafer edged Bernald Lipscomb, 243-234 in the other semi final.
Fisherkeller, with 795 points, continues to lead the Point List sponsored by Buddy Light Accounting and Chuck Ludewig Insurance Agency. Jim Longwell (725) and Larry Henthorn (625) round out the top three. There are three weeks remaining to qualify for the 31st Annual Grand Finale. Tournament sponsors Miller Lite and Capital Beverage guarantee the champions top prize of $1,200.
