River Cheerleaders Are Grand Champions

On March 7 River High School cheerleaders came home from the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic in Columbus, Ohio, with the Grand Champion trophy.
The Arnold Classic is a weekend of athletic events promoting fitness. As part of the the fitness classic, US Spirit has a cheer and dance national competition. The River cheerleaders were in the varsity non-mount small school class. They won first place in their class and received a Gold Cup trophy and a banner.
The Pilot Cheerleaders were the top scorer in the high school division with a score of 332, enough to beat out over 18 other schools, which included small, medium, and large schools throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. They received the Grand Champion trophy and a banner to hang in their school. Each cheerleader received two medals and a jacket with the US Spirit logo and “National Champion” embroidered on the back.
The Pilot squad will lose six seniors this year and have made this year one to remember.
