New Martinsville Buck$ Host Rockets

The New Martinsville Buck$ For Charity and the Wetzel County Relay For Life have announced that the Harlem Rockets Comedy Basketball Team will be at Magnolia High School Gymnasium on Friday, May 1 at 7 p.m. for a charity basketball game to benefit the Wetzel County Relay For Life.
The Harlem Rockets, a talented group of entertainers, combine incredible show-time basketball skills and family-friendly comedy. The team has played more than 2,300 games without a defeat. The Rockets incorporate the audience, especially children, into the show. They will also be visiting New Martinsville, Paden City and Shortline Elementary Schools earlier in the day for a program for the students. Members of the Rockets include James “Speedy” Williams, featured in the movie “Above the Rim” and featured in the Playstation Street Hoops game. Also on the team is Clarence “Mugsy” Leggett, a former Harlem Globetrotter; Ryan “Special Effects” Williams, previously on tour with the And 1 Street Ball Tour; Jay Bryant; Brandon “Smooth Bee” Steward; and Greg “The Finisher” Wells, a spectacular above-the-rim artist.
The New Martinsville Buck$ are like-minded individuals from the local area who are dedicated to helping non-profit charities raise funds for their causes. In the past, the Buck$ have helped the Sistersville Parks Department, the New Martinsville Riverfront Development Committee, the New Martinsville Fire Department and Brownie Troop 5789 raise funds for their projects.
The team includes Coach Rick Estep, Robert Henry, Ronnie Henry, Anthony Wells, Miranda Billiter, Tim Cecil, Steve Pallisco, Tom Tharp, John “Butch” Lantz, Steve Kastigar, Scott Dalrymple, Dave Byers, Jeremy Byers, Don Larsen and Bryan “The Hit Man” Hostetler.
