Catholic has had a strong-hold in the state tournament for many years and, other than a 20-7 run to start the game, the Eagles outscored the visitors 45-43, despite their leading scorer Padyn Ludewig not scoring. Catholic went on to win 63-52.

Seniors Corinne Murdock and Tincy Haught netted 16 and 12 points, respectively, to lead the Blue Eagles, while Lindsay Riggs contributed nine markers.

Freshmen Abby Harlan added seven, Jordan Babe swished the nets twice from beyond the arc and Marissa Bosley netted two.

After the OVAC Tournament Monday and Thursday, the Blue Eagle girls’ will travel to Ritchie County High School Feb. 16, with the junior varsity tip getting underway at 6 p.m. and the varsity game to follow.
