Wildcats Control Cee-Bees
The Lady ‘Cats of Paden City have been putting up some wins of late and their last victim came all the way from Clay-Battelle on Oct. 22 to take a three set beating by the scores 25-11, 25-12, and 25-17, on the Lady ‘Cats senior night.
The ‘Cats clawed the Dragons with a total team effort led by Amanda Sellers with a game-high 32 assists and eight points. Alli Bertozzi scored 10 points, including five service aces. She also added 15 kills and five digs for an outstanding effort on the court.
Paden City seniors Amy Toman and Kim Davis played the back line for the first time all season, as they usually play front line only and seldom get to serve, and Paden City Head Coach Fred King wouldn’t let this senior night spoil a chance for his two senior front line players to get a crack at playing in the back row. Contributing two points, including a service ace, two digs, and four kills, was Toman, while Davis contributed two points, two digs, and blasted the Cee-Bees with nine kills. Fellow senior Shauna Durant also added seven points, including an ace, and five digs in the three game set.
Amber Palmer netted 11 points, including a service ace, one kill, and seven digs, while Amanda Tallman was strong at the net with three kills and two digs. Dominique Craft came off the bench and scored nine points, including several service aces, and three digs, while Amanda Heasley and Taylor Parsons each added three and two digs, respectively, plus Heasley scored three points.
