The 1st annual Magnolia Basketball Fundraiser Pickleball Tournament was held Sunday afternoon February 1, 2026, at Magnolia High School Gymnasium. Jason and Bernadette Hood put together the fundraiser for the Magnolia Boys Basketball team. Rob Christen helped by keeping the scores and teams moving along. It was a good turnout with several High School basketball players taking part in the tournament.

Thirteen mixed doubles teams took part in the double elimination tournament with many competitive matches. Bo Putsock and Julie Morris defeated Shawna Heil and Rick Loy for the championship. Heil and Loy needed to beat Putsock & Morris twice for the championship. Heil and Loy would win the first match to force a second match, which Putsock and Morris won for the championship. Terry Sands and daughter Cedar finished third.

In Men’s doubles, Todd Cecil and Jason Hood needed to beat Ack Morgan and Brian Croasmun twice. Cecil and Hood would beat Morgan and Croasmun twice the take the championship. James Crow and Jeff Geiseke would finish in third place.

Women’s doubles was won by Shawna Heil and Julie Morris going undefeated in beating Judi and Monica Curtis in the championship game.

Everyone had an enjoyable time and played some competitive pickleball. Thanks to everyone involved in making this 1st Annual Tournament a success.
