The New Martinsville Junior Baseball league held their 10 and under Mustang Baseball Tournament July 11-13 at the local Nathan Hassig fields with 10 teams participating.

The tournament had several good games, but when all was said and done the winning team was the Mid Ohio Valley All-Stars who won over the Volts 10-2 in the championship game.

Organizers wanted to thank everyone that volunteered in various ways to help make the event a success. Shenandoah finished in 3rd place by defeating New Martinsville A 14-13 in a consolation game thriller.

Other teams included New Martinsville B; Moundsville; Cobras; Woodsdale; Barnesville; and Monroe.

The New Martinsville Junior Sports League provides opportunities for kids in several age brackets to participate in sports programs which include flag football, soccer, baseball, softball, and top soccer. Fall sports team registration applications are available on the leagues web page.

Volunteers are needed and can sign up through the website as well.

Top Soccer is an opportunity for children with diverse abilities; impairments that limit their ability to perform at the level of play chosen to participate. Soccer signups are for preschool through 8th grade.
