Wildcats Fall 1-0 to St. Mary’s in Pitching Dual

In baseball action on Monday, May 5, in a tightly contested matchup, the Wildcats dropped a heartbreaker to St. Mary’s High School, falling 1-0 in a game defined by dominant pitching and stingy defense.
The Blue Devils scratched across the game’s only run in the top of the first inning, and it held up the rest of the way as both teams settled into a defensive battle. Despite being held hitless, the Wildcats stayed within striking distance thanks to a stellar outing from starting pitcher Kayden Myers.
Myers was electric on the mound, striking out nine St. Mary’s batters and keeping his team in the game with clutch pitching under pressure. But the Wildcats offense couldn’t find an answer against the Blue Devils’ starter, who delivered a no-hit performance to secure the win.
With the loss, the Wildcats will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they aim to build on the strong defensive effort.
