Lady Eagles Fall at Cameron 8-0
The Magnolia Lady Blue Eagles made the trip to Cameron on Wednesday evening April 30 to take on the Cameron Dragons in girls high school softball action and were defeated in 6 innings 8-0 by the host Dragons.
The home team jumped on the Eagles in the first inning by scoring 5 runs, then added single runs in the 2nd, 4th and 6th, while holding the visitors scoreless. Lexi Bogard scattered 5 hits to the Eagles hitters and struck out nine to go the distance and get the victory on the mound for the Dragons.
Magnolia’s Mallory McDiffitt suffered the loss allowing 8 runs, and 8 hits, while striking out 6 Cameron batters and walking four. The Eagles received a double and single for two hits from Jessa Anderson, while Sienna McKeever, Caroline Heil and Gabby Hudson all singled in the contest. The Blue Eagles left six base runners stranded The Dragons were led by Skye Dobbs with three hits and two RBI and Kendra Thomas added two hits and drove in three runs for the victorious Dragons.
Magnolia committed three errors in the game, while Cameron played error free ball.
