Magnolia Beats Beallsville in Mercy-Rule Game 14-4
Coach Eric Mason’s squad picked up a win at home on Wednesday evening April 16, beating Beallsville 14-4 in a five-inning mercy rule contest. Finn Loy picked up the win on the mound and had a perfect 4 for 4 night at the plate with 3 RBI’s to lead the Blue Eagles attack. Brayden Byers added two hits and 3 RBI’s, Noah Hood and Aiden Fluharty each collected two hits and two RBI. The Eagles improved to (3-6) on the season.
Beallsville, who dropped to (1-5) on the season, was led by Fulton with a hit and two RBI.
Blue Eagles Nipped by Rebels 5-4 at Home
Magnolia suffered a close loss to the Ritchie County Rebels on Monday evening April 14, losing 5-4 at the George Mullett Complex. The Eagles fell to (2-6) on the season with the loss. The Eagles had seven hits in the contest but stranded 14 runners on base. Finn Loy collected 2 hits and drove in a run. Ridge Moffitt also had a hit and knocked in a run. Connor Carpenter, Brayden Byers, Ethan Lipscomb and Mason each collected a hit for the Blue Eagles.
Ritchie County pounded out nine hits, and scored five runs. The Rebels were led by McBrayer and Hartness with two hits and an RBI each. The win improved the Rebels to (2-8) on the season.
