The 2025 Hundred Hornets coached by Bill Reynolds and Terry Greaver are competing hard with each outing, however inexperience and seven freshmen has made it difficult to be competitive with experienced schools. 12 players make up the roster, including Dustin Pierce 00, John Fordyce 2, Teagan Pevernik 3, Kylee Morris 4, Ariel Hall 9

Noah Smith 15, Julian Conaway 16, Terry Greaver 20, Austin LaRue 22, Richard Derby 23

Frank Greaver 25, and Ryley Wright 42.

In the opener against Notre Dame the Hornets fell 28-3 despite having some bright spots from several players. Errors and pitching hurt in game one which ended in five innings due to the mercy rule.

On Friday, March 21, the Hornets entertained Magnolia high school and was only able to push one run across the plate, however they never gave up and played hard the entire game before falling 21-1 to the Blue Eagles to drop to 0-2 on the season.

The Hornets traveled to Jefferson County Christian on Monday, March 24, and suffered another hard fought defeat despite good effort from the team. Jefferson was able to score 22 runs to three for the Hornets to get the victory. Hundred managed four hits in the contest and displayed good pitching. Errors again spelled doom for the team.

The next contest saw Turkeyfoot, Pa get the win over the young Hornets 19-5 despite some fine hitting by Hundred including an inside the park homer by Dustin Pierce making the game interesting for a while.

As a true freshman Richard Derby caught an entire game and handled the baserunning of the opposition well. He has added a few nice hits so far as well.

Freshman Austin “Lefty” LaRue in his first season pitching at the varsity level and is contributing solid innings against tough competition racking up several strikeouts along the way.

The Hornets fell to 0-4 with the loss. With 26 games left on the schedule they are improving with each outing and may surprise some people as the season progresses.
