Lady Wildcats Host Final Game in History
The Paden City Lady Wildcats played their last basketball game in history on February 18, 2025 when they hosted Parkersburg Christian in Bob Burton Gymnasium.
The Lady Cats have faced a lot of adversity this year with low numbers and injuries to key players but have always shown up and played the game with intensity and heart. The game did not go as planned as the Wildcats fell to Parkersburg Christian by the score of 63-28. The Wildcats only trailed by one 12-11 after the first quarter but a 5 point second quarter proved to be the downfall as Christian would add 24 points in the second to lead 36-16 at the break. Ashton Wade again led the Lady Cats with 12 points followed by Harmony Gross with seven and Kim Burch with five points. Katie Householder, playing with a bad foot, added two points for the now 5 -14 Lady Wildcats. “Last night we played our last game as the Paden City Lady Wildcats. Coach Shreve and I are very proud of this group of young ladies. They overcame so much adversity this season. We want to wish them the best wherever they end up playing next season,” said head coach Josh Fulks.
The Cat’s will now turn their attention to spring sports with most of the girls participating in softball or track. Practices will begin once the weather allows with the first softball game scheduled for March 19, on the road at Ritchie County and the first track meet slated for March 25, at Tyler Consolidated in the Wetzel/Tyler Track League.
