Wildcats take Down Hornets

The Paden City Lady Wildcats picked up a win over rival Hundred Lady Hornets on Monday night February 3, in Paden City, downing the Hornets in a close one 40-32. The Wildcats took a four point lead after the first period when Ashton Wade hit a 3-pointer from just over the half court line as the quarter ended. The lead extended to five points in the second quarter 20-15 at the mid way point of the game. The Lady Cats would add 10 more in the third and 10 in the fourth to pull out the victory. The Wildcats had two players in double figures with Ashton Wade scoring 21 and Kim Burch adding 14. Wade also pulled down 18 rebounds and Burch grabbed 10 rebounds. Harmony Gross would chip in with two points and five rebounds for the now 3-9 Lady Wildcats.
“Good team win last night, proud of the young ladies, for what we have been through this season with injuries and the drama of the school closing. I feel these 8 girls have battled through some tough situations this year and myself and Hannah are proud to be their coaches,” said Head Coach Josh Fulks.
