Magnolia Lady’s Fall to South Harrison 46-37
The Magnolia Lady Blue Eagles traveled to Middlebourne on Friday morning January 17th to battle the South Harrison Hawks in the Boggs Roundball Classic and dropped a close contest to the Hawks 46-37. The Blue Eagles were led by senior Sienna McKeever who knocked in 13 points in the effort. Backing McKeever for coach Kasey Sapp’s team was freshman Kaylee Yost who added nine points, including a 3-pointer and 6-10 free throws. Bella Seckman pitched in seven markers, while Aubrey Warder contributed four. Mallory McDiffitt and Austin Quinn each added a basket for two.
The Blue Eagles fell behind 24-19 at halftime and were outscored 22-18 in the second half. The loss dropped the Eagles to (3-6) on the season, while South Harrison Hawks to (4-8).
South Harrison had the game’s top scorer in Addlee Wright who hit for 17, followed by Halle Bland with 14.
The Blue Eagles hung close even though Coach Sapp’s squad has not been able to practice or play games due to the weather.
