Lady Eagles Lose to Warriors in Overtime 44-37

The Lady Eagles trailed most of the contest on Saturday evening January 25th to the Trinity Warriors but fought back to take the lead with 16.7 seconds on the clock 33-32 in the Rotary Challenge. A blocking foul on Sienna McKeever, her fifth, resulted in a technical fouls when she questioned the call. The Warriors would only make one of four free throws to tie the score at 33-33 with 8 seconds on the clock. The Warriors inbounded the ball but the shot at the buzzer was off, and the game went to overtime. The Warriors dominated the overtime session, scoring the Eagles11-4 for the victory.

The Warriors led 17-14 at halftime and 27-21 after the third period with the Eagles out scoring the visitors 12-6 to knot the score at 33-33 at the end of regulation.

Coach Kasey Sapp’s team fell to (4-9) on the season had opportunities in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter but could not cash in on their free throws or inside shots. Kaylee Yost would lead the Eagles with 17 points including two 3-pointers, Sienna McKeever added 10 points with a three-point basket, Bella Sockman chipped in with 5 points, one coming from behind the arc, and Mallory McDiffitt netted a three-pointer and finished with 5 points for the losing Blue Eagles.
