Magnolia Boys Crush Valley
The Blue Eagles jumped out to an 18-14 first quarter lead over visiting Valley high school on Saturday, December 4, and never looked back, winning all four quarters for a 78-54 victory over the Lumberjacks.
Point guard Scott Bailey was hot in the first quarter hitting for eight of his 18 points on the day. He opened up hitting a pair of 3’s and finished the day with four to his credit, while also dishing out nine assists and getting three steals. By halftime the Blue Eagles were up 34-21 and led 59-39 heading into the final eight minutes.
Kingston Christen continued playing tough ball as he led all scorers with 20 points, 18 which came in the second half when he made four 3-pointers. The Blue Eagles had eight players dent the scoreboard with Hunter Oates adding 14 including a trio of 3’s. Darin Shimp hit for eight markers and Noah Hood added seven. Brayden Byers ended with six, Carson Wade added a 3-pointer and Dubale Greathouse added two. Magnolia went 4-4 from the free throw line and hit 31 field goals including 12 3-pointers.
Valley received 14 points from Gavin Derby including a 3-pointer. Trevor Stackpole added 13 including two 3’s. Wyatt Rogers hit for eight, while Koleton Kinkade and Landen Jerico each had seven. Trevor Martin and Cayden Stackpole each scored two points. The Lumberjacks fell to 1-3 with the loss while Magnolia moved to 4-1.
