St. Marys gets repeat win over Lady Blue Eagles

Visiting St. Marys had no trouble getting their second win over the Blue Eagles on the season, as they jumped out to a 24-7 first quarter lead on Wednesday night, December 4, and never looked back to get the win 69-34.

The visiting Blue Devils had five players reach double digits and score all the points for the visitors as they cruised to a 39-11 halftime lead.

The home team Lady Blue Eagles came out following the halftime break and put 10 points on the board in the third frame, but the high powered Blue Devils added 19 in the quarter to their total, to increase the lead to 37 points heading into the final eight minutes. Magnolia won the fourth quarter 13-11, behind eight points in the frame from Makia Litton who hit a pair of 3ás and two free throws in the frame.

The Blue Eagles were led by Litton who ended with 11 points on the night to be their top scorer and only Blue Eagle to reach double digits. She was backed by Erica Perry with six points, while Jenna Blain and Shaela Holliday each hit four points. Gabby Hudson hit a 3-pointer, while Sienna McKeever, Mallory McDiffitt, and Lauren Gaiser all ended with two.

St. Marys was led by Breanna Price with 16 points all in the first three quarters. Zoe Davis finished with 15 markers, including a three ball. Carrie Powell added 14, Kiera Martin got 12, and Addie Davis ended with 11. The Blue Devils hit 28 field goals, including a three and went 12-19 from the free throw line. Magnolia hit 12 from the floor, including five 3-pointers, while making 5-6 from the free throw line all by Litton. The Blue Eagles now stand at 5-5 on the season following the loss.
