Valley Girls win over Wood County Christian
The Lumberjills traveled to Williamstown on Thursday night, December 29, to take on the Wildcats of WCC in girls high school basketball action, the end result Valley 39, WCC 21.
Niether team started out to well with both teams ice cold from the floor. Valley however won the period 8-2 and never trailed the rest of the way to pick up their sixth win of the season against two losses. Winter Higgins hit for a game high 16 points to lead the way as the fiesty guard knocked in four points in each of the quarters. She wasnát the only game for the Lumberjills however as seven players dented the scoreboard.
Cheyanne Higgins added eight points all in the first half, while Michaela Miller hit for five. Laken Dawson contributed four points,three rebounds, two steals and two assists. Harli Rush, Andrea Thomas, and Alexis Highley all added two points. Winter higgins also had two rebounds, six steals and five assists. Thomas had six rebounds and five steals, plus two assists.
The Lumber jills led 21-10 at the half and outscored the home team Wildcats 18-11 after the break. Leading the Wildcats was Camryn Yoho with 15 points, while Keley Gutherlet hit for the remaining six.
