River Boys Fall to Canfield

The Pilots traveled to Toronto, Oh, on Wednesday night, December 28, to battle Canfield in boys basketball in the Toronto Holiday Classic. River was looking to pick up another win on the young season, but Canfield proved to be to much and handed the Pilots their second loss of the season 47-35.

The first half was nip and tug as each team traded baskets and leads before Canfield went into the locker room up two. At the end of the third Canfield led 31-26 and then outscored the Pilots 16-9 in the final eight minutes to grab the win.

Leading the way for River was junior standout Kabel Isaly with a game high 19 points, including a 3-pointer. Also hitting in double digits was senior Brody Lollathin with 10 markers, incuding a three. Ty Long added four points and River Thompson hit a bucket for two.

Canfield was led by Schneider with 10 points, while Costonova ad Delucia each hit for eight markers and Cruz added eight, including a pair of 3ás.

Canfield hit 20 shots from the floor, icluding five 3ás and went 2-5 from the free throw line. River hit 16 field goals, including two 3ás and went 3-5 from the charity stripe.
