Chris Binni won the 37th and final Ohio Valley Match Play Grand Finale with a 200-198 vicory over Dave Johnson that came down to the final ball. Binni won $500 for his efforts, while Johnson earned $250.
Sean Johnson, the defending was the two-game high qualifier with games of 247-289 and zero handicap for a 536 total. Binni defeated Chuck Fischerkeller III 243-233 in one semifinal, while Johnson bested Chet Richmond 240-207 in the other semi.
Fischerkeller and Richmond earned $125 each for their third-place finishes. Fischerkeller was the Point List Champion, a distinction that brought him $100.
Jordan Longwell won the Doris Westfall Award for her position as highest female on the Point List. She and Dave Johnson won their Arkle Costanza Award by bowling in the most weekly events this year, 25 out of 28. Fischerkeller also received the Chup Robinson Sportsmanship Award.
John Mensore of JC Mensore Distributors received the Rick Doty Achievement Award as the individual most responsible for the success of this year’s event.
The OV Match Play has paid out approximately $325,000 during its 37-year run.
