Eagles Fly By ‘Dons

Blue Eagle standout Spencer Campbell surpassed 1,000 career points in a career-high 44 game points to pace Magnolia in a convincing 104-73 victory over Weirton Madonna Feb. 25 in Weirton.

After losing to Cameron in their last home game, the Blue Eagles took it out on Madonna, who finished runnerup to Bishop on a last second buzzer beater in the OVAC Class-A Championship.

Magnolia raced out to a 29-20 advantage and took a 51-33 lead with them into the locker room at the break. Magnolia extended its lead to 75-53 after three, before finishing the game with a 29-20 fourth quarter run.

Campbell’s points included three bonus bombs, as he drained 5-5 from the charity stripe, while Preston Boswell sank 31 markers, including two from long range.

Derrick Blain tickled the twine from beyond the arc three times, while Mitch Winters netted nine markers. Brooks Parsons scored five points that also included a triple. Tyler Williamson hit the bullseye from long range, while Kyle Ritz netted three baskets from the free throw line.
